Tapeworm

Here lately 90% of my posts involve food, Cooper, or Cooper eating food. Well… not to disappoint, this one does too! My kid is going to eat us out of house and home. He is SKINNY. At every checkup since birth he has been in the 90th percentile on height, and the 50th percentile on weight. For you baby free folk, that means that he is taller then 90% of American kids in his age group, and only weighs more the 50% of them. The bottom line of all that Mom blabber is getting pants small enough to fit him around the waist equals high waters and getting shirts with sleeves long enough equals the body being big enough for two of him… but that’s beside the point… back to the eating thing. The kid weighs in at a whopping 27 pounds, and he seriously eats more in a day then I do and I weigh… well… five more pounds then I did before I was pregnant. Anywho, I spend ALL DAY either fixing him something to eat, watching him eat, or cleaning up after him when he is done eating. Here is what he had today for those of you who think I am exaggerating… three pancakes, one apple, two oranges, a big plate of spaghetti, two packages of fruit snacks, a full size bag of microwave popcorn, two pieces of string cheese, two half ears of corn on the cob, bacon, hashbrowns, two glasses of milk, and at least five big glasses of water. The kicker is, he asked me for more food in between everything he ate! I heard “Cookie!” and “Apple!” about fifteen times today. Can you feed a kid too much? Is this ever going to stop? Do I need to pick up a third job to afford to feed TWO BABY BOYS? Another thing to remember is that he takes a nap for three hours in the middle of the day. Thank the Lord, I don’t think I have enough food in my refrigerator to feed him an additional three hours a day!

Those little Japanese competitive hot-dog eaters don’t have a thing on Coop. Here he is polishing off the first of two big bowls of popcorn today.

  • Erica - Ahhh! Look how long his hair is! I love it!

  • Kate - Hi Kathy! This is Kari’s sister. I’ve been a blog stalker of yours forever! Thanks for the sleeping advice with Logan. He’s had ear infections for so long that I’ve let it go on longer than I should have knowing that his ears are bothering him, and of course now it’s a habit. I’m going to have to bite the bullet myself. I just hope 3 nights is all it takes. I have a coworker telling me horror stories of his son screaming for 2 hours for 14 nights!
