I LOVE THIS GLIDER!

Oh… what a thing of beauty!  This is my new prized possession.  Otey’s Mom has had this glider on their back porch for years and years.  No one ever goes out there, so it has been neglected and rusted to a thing of wonderful beauty.  OH!  Did I mention that I LOVE THIS GLIDER?  Much to my husbands dismay, we loaded it up and brought it home with us… did I mention that I LOVE THIS GLIDER?  I love it just the way it is.  I thought I could just put a bunch of layers of clear coat on it and it would stop rusting… come to find out, that’s not true.  I don’t want to change it at all… any suggestions besides a fake aged look on a new coat of paint?  Get used to seeing this gem… it will probably be in every other picture I take for the next year!  Thanks Georgia!

  • Mom - Kathy, Must be a Smith thing. I like it too.

  • aunt harriet/mom - take lots of pictures of it, take paint/rust samples and match them with new paint, give up, sand, prime and paint it to preserve it and then start the fax painting. Sorry, but if you want to save it, that is the only way I know how. – By the way…I love it too – Georgia, do you have any more of those around?

  • cody - I’ve been trying to get that from her for years!!!!!
