Yesterday was a BIG day for the McCloy house. Cooper and I walked to the grocery store to meet Otey for lunch (they have a great Chinese restaurant). Cooper and I have been doing a lot of walking lately. Actually, I have been doing a lot of walking and Cooper has been doing a lot of riding. Tuesday we took our BIG wagon to the grocery store and did our shopping. When I went to load Cooper and all the bags in the wagon, I quickly realized that I was going to need something to keep Cooper busy so he wouldn’t throw milk and eggs overboard. A cookie worked nicely! We walk down the street every afternoon and Cooper plays with some bigger kids (3 and 4) who live a few houses down. I’m off the subject… back to yesterday… After lunch, Cooper went to daycare for the first time! I had a meeting with the lady a few weeks ago, but I hadn’t got the courage up to take him until yesterday. He only went from 12:45 – 3:45 and he had a blast. She keeps a two year old named Connor, and I guess he and Cooper were best buds right from the start. It wasn’t quite so easy on me. I ran some errands and in like 45 minutes I was ready to go back and get him. I had to make myself wait three hours. You know, it’s just so hard to trust a complete stranger with your baby. I kept telling everyone, for all I knew, she locked him in the closet two minutes after I left. I must admit, I did call once during his three hour stay to make sure he was adjusting okay. She pretty much told me he could care less if I was gone. Not in those words… but that is how it felt. We are going to have to leave him there on Friday afternoon because I have to go take pictures, and Otey doesn’t get off work until 5:00… so this was our test run. I need to take my camera there and take some pictures of Cooper and curly-headed-Connor so you can all see what the "Happy Tots" daycare looks like. One good thing for Mom, when I went to pick him up, he was super busy and didn’t notice I came in. After a few seconds he noticed me and threw his toys down and ran to me. He hugged and kissed me when I picked him up. Since I’m never away from him, I don’t get that "I’m so happy to see you" reaction very often. Cooper came home and ate dinner, and then had a bath, and was so pooped he was ready for bed at 6:30. All this outside playing this week has made him one tired little guy.
There are lots of new pictures in the Albums to make up for this being a picture-less post!
