VEGAS – Day 13

Tonight we ditched out on the rodeo.  We have had plans all week to go and eat with some friends at Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant.  Cooper is still running a fever and a little calmer than usual, but we loaded him up on his Baby Motrin and Amoxicillian and ventured out of our hotel for the first time since Wednesday night.  He did really good and managed to make a huge mess all around his high chair just like he does everywhere else.  I guess he missed the memo on Emeril’s being a fancy pants restaurant.  The food was WONDERFUL… overpriced… but wonderful.  It was night to skip the rodeo tonight and have an evening where we didn’t feel stressed and rushed.  Tomorrow night is the last performance and then we head to Iowa Sunday morning.

Cooper had a rough morning.  He just really hasn’t been feeling like eating or drinking that much.  I have tried Water, Juice, Pedalite, Gatorade, and Propel.  Finally, this afternoon for lunch I ran and got him some McDonald’s.  I know feeding my baby McDonald’s probably rules out any chance of me making millions off my "How to be a good parent" book, but I figured anything in his belly was better then nothing.  When I got back to the hotel, I put Cooper in his high chair and started ripping up chicken nuggets and french fries knowing he’d turn his nose up at them also… then much to my delight/horror he dug right in!  He ate every bite of an entire happy meal! Like I said… not exactly picture perfect parenting, but it was the first thing he had ate in like seven hours. Maybe I should write a book… White Trash Remedies for Ailing Children…
