"Come here Louie, let me get the peas off your back." Those are words I never thought I would say. Usually Cooper doesn’t put much food on the floor, he’s WAY too busy shoving it in his mouth, but this evening he thought it would be funny to all of the sudden toss a bunch of peas overboard and poor Louie was in the line of fire. I say all of the time that my life is controlled chaos. Sometimes I think "controlled" might be pushing it!
Otey and I worked in the yard from the time we got home from church until dark. I just read my cousin Heather’s blog and it sounds like great minds think alike! The person that lived here before us had a green thumb (which I don’t have and don’t want) so there are miscellaneous flowers, trees, and bushes planted everywhere. The only issue is, the person who lived here before us was definitely lacking in design and layout skills. I am in the process of digging up who knows what and replacing is with good old fashioned low maintenance grass. We have two HUGE overgrown bushes that have to come out. I’m talking like 10 foot across and they are right up against the house… any suggestions? We also went and bought some pavers and have been making those cute little mulch beds (notice I didn’t say flower beds) around the trees in the front yard. My dad would be proud to know that I broke out the saw-zaw and just cut through the roots if they were in my way. We had to get the pavers level somehow. No boring old standard yard tools for the McCloys! We still have tons more to do, but the progress is sure exciting. Pictures coming soon!
